Niemand heeft het
meer over gangnam style. Aan het begin van 2013 is het eventjes tijd voor de Harlem shake. YouTube barst uit zijn
voegen dankzij deze nieuwe danshype. Je zet een helm en masker op, verzamelt zo
veel mogelijk mensen en beweegt als een op hol geslagen gorilla. De track houdt het
8 weken vol en schopt het tot #4. Toch scoort ook Psy
wederom en wel met Gentleman (#15). In de clip mishandelt hij op goedmoedige
wijze vrouwen door hun loopbanden op te voeren, hete koffie in hun gezicht te

Met het naderen van de troonswisseling op 30 april worden
daar heel gelegeneheids-songs gemaakt. RTL Boulevard lanceert Koningin Van Alle Mensen, hun bedanklied
voor Beatrix, op dinsdag 16 april en dat haalt nummer 1 in de I-Tunes. In 24 uur
tijd wordt de track meer dan 3.000 keer gedownload. De opbrengst gaat naar het
Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds. Het nummer is gemaakt op de melodie van de nummer 1
hitsingle Vijftien Miljoen Mensen van Fluitsma en van Tijn. Aan het nummer

Het officiële lied voor de inhuldiging van prins
Willem-Alexander op 30 april wordt op vrijdag 19 april gepresenteerd. Vanaf
08.30 uur mogen alle radio- en tv-zenders het Koningslied laten horen. Het lied duurt ruim 5 minuten en begint
met de woorden "Daar sta je dan, je zag dit moment al zo vaak in je
dromen". Alle Nederlanders kunnen suggesties doen voor de tekst. Guus
Meeuwis, Alain Clark, Daphne Deckers en Jack Poels hebben het lied uiteindelijk

kritiek dat de componist het lied terugtrekt: "Excuses aan hen die het met
mij wel een gepast lied vonden, die bijgedragen hebben aan de totstandkoming en
aan hen die mij op een nette of grappige manier hebben laten weten dat zij
liever wat anders hadden gehoord, maar ik trek hierbij het Koningslied
terug". Desondanks blijft de
track van platenmaatschappij Universal Music gewoon beschikbaar op de
verschillende platforms. Het Koningslied kostte de Nederlandse
Publieke Omroep 150.000 euro. De single houdt het 4 weken vol en
komt tot #2.
Anouks
nieuwe album Sad Singalong Songs komt op 24 mei op nummer 1 binnen in de Album
Top 100. De Haagse zangeres zou in het kader van Symphonica in Rosso op 16, 18
en 20 oktober optreden in het Gelredome in Arnhem. Maar wegens stemproblemen
vervallen 2 van de 3 concerten. De single Birds - waarmee ze Nederland
vertegenwoordig op het Eurovisiesongfestival en een eervolle 9e
plaats behaalt - houdt het 18 weken uit en komt tot #3 in de Top 40. Birds haalt ook een week #75 in Oostenrijk en #12 in
de Vlaamse Ultratop 50. Dat is in Vlaanderen maar één treetje lager dan de
uiteindelijke winnares van het Songfestival, de Deense Emmelie de Forest met haar Only Teardrops. In de Nederlandse
Top 40 houdt Emmelie 8 weken stand en komt tot #14.
2013 is een bewogen jaar voor Hardwell: in maart wint hij tijdens de Winter Music Conference in
Miami twee IDMA’s (International Dance Music Awards) voor Beste Remixer en Best
European DJ. Op 27 april trapt hij zijn eigen wereldtour I Am Hardwell af in
een uitverkochte Heineken Music Hall. In oktober wordt hij door DJ Mag
uitgeroepen tot beste dj van de wereld en de documentaire I Am Hardwell gaat in
première in Pathe Tuschinski in Amsterdam. Op zijn eigen platenlabel, Revealed
Recordings, brengt hij verschillende hits uit, waaronder Never Say Goodbye en
